IGB offers its customers complete solutions\nfrom market analysis and research to application-ready development. IGB\ncombines the highest scientific quality with professional know-how in its\nfields of competence \u2013 always with a view to economic efficiency and\nsustainability. The interdisciplinary exchange between the five R&amp;D\ndepartments in Stuttgart and the institutes in Leuna and Straubing also promotes\ninnovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For many years, the Interfacial Engineering and Materials\nScience department of the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and\nBiotechnology IGB has been developing organic and inorganic specific adsorber\nparticles (SPAs) for the separation of minor components (impurities or\nrecyclables). The Fraunhofer IGB holds two relevant patents for adsorber\nparticles and their use in vegetable oils (DE 10 2007 061 436, DE 100 31 859).\nThe adsorber particles are integrated into new process concepts for material\nseparation. They are applied to polymer fillers or integrated into membranes as\na selective layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fraunhofer IGB is very well equipped in the field of\nanalytics and measurement methods, in particular for the characterization of\nparticles and material surfaces. In addition to standard analytical methods \u2013\nsuch as dynamic light scattering, HPLC or GPC analysis \u2013 Fraunhofer IGB\u2019s\nsurface analytics has an extensive range of highly specialized methods,\nprocesses and equipment at its disposal.
