In numerous research projects, processes have been developed and validated on a laboratory and pilot scale for the fractionation of legumes and oilseeds such as rape seed and press cake. The process equipment required for the production of proteins, dietary fibers and secondary plant substances is available at Fraunhofer IVV in different scales between 2 kg\/h and 500 kg\/h depending on the task. In addition to the dry processing of raw materials (peeling, sifting, flocculation, grinding), aggregates for extraction with common organic solvents and aqueous systems up to an extraction volume of 2 m\u00b3 are available on a laboratory and pilot plant scale for batch extractions. In addition, Fraunhofer IVV has long been engaged in characterizing the properties of plant ingredients and their application in non-food and food applications.
